Search Terms
A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the independent provider that operates the tool. Morris County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s policy controls its handling of the submitted query.
Messages
If you send an email or contact-form message, we keep the information needed to read and answer it. A message is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Routine server, analytics, and advertising systems may receive technical details when a page loads, including:
- The Internet Protocol address associated with the request
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring site, when one is supplied
- Date and time information
Cookies
Cookies and similar browser storage help measure use and support site functions. You may block them through browser settings. Some features or preferences may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- Operate the site and maintain acceptable performance
- Send a search request to the selected partner tool
- Understand which Morris County resources visitors use

Links and Outside Services
Links lead to Morris County Sheriff and jail pages, New Jersey corrections and court portals, federal locators, public-record resources, and outside search services. After you follow a link, the destination’s own privacy rules apply. Morris County Released Inmates does not control those systems.
Advertising providers may collect activity across different sites on their own networks to select targeted ads. That processing occurs under their policies, not within this site’s direct control. Requests for New Jersey government records are separately governed by the Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 through -13, and the issuing agency’s rules.
Who May Receive Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be available to a limited set of service providers or authorities when needed:
- Search partners that process a submitted query
- Analytics providers that measure site traffic
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order
Security Practices
Reasonable administrative and technical practices are used to protect information. No website, network, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed secure, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If a minor submitted information, use the Contacts page to request its deletion.

Subject to applicable law and the limits of the information we hold, you may:
- Ask for a copy of personal data held about you
- Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion of personal data
- Object to or opt out of certain processing
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice as the site, providers, or legal requirements change. A revised notice takes effect when posted here with an updated effective date.
